Editorial Standards

Citation methodology.

How every claim on this guide is sourced, verified, dated, and corrected.

This is an independent editorial guide to Quail Hollow, Charlotte. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Quail Hollow Club, any homeowners association, developer, brokerage, or governing body. Nothing on this site is reviewed or approved by an outside organization before publication.

Because the corridor is written about carelessly elsewhere — club access confused with residency, "golf course area" used for homes that do not touch the course, membership numbers invented outright — this page documents exactly how we decide what gets published, what gets cited, and what gets corrected.

Source hierarchy

Four tiers, applied in order.

Tier 1 — Public record

County parcel, deed, assessment, permit, and zoning records. Used for anything numeric about land, structures, taxes, or boundaries. A listing description is never accepted in place of a parcel record.

Tier 2 — Official organization

The body that owns the fact: the club, the PGA of America, the PGA TOUR, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, NC DPI, the City of Charlotte, the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors.

Tier 3 — Aggregated market data

Canopy MLS / Canopy Realtor® Association regional reporting and U.S. Census data. Used for trend direction and ranges, always presented as a range rather than a false-precision figure.

Tier 4 — Editorial observation

First-hand corridor knowledge: street character, architectural reading, buyer behavior. Clearly written as judgment, never cited as fact, and never used to support a number.

Verification cadence

Every page carries a review date.

The date at the bottom of each section page is the last time a human re-checked its claims against the sources below — not the last time a word was changed.

Corrections policy

Standards FAQ

Questions about how we work

How are facts on this site verified?
Every factual claim is checked against a primary public record or the official body responsible for it — Mecklenburg County POLARIS 3G for parcels, the Mecklenburg County Assessor for values, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and NC DPI for schools, the City of Charlotte UDO for zoning, and the governing golf organizations for tournament records. Secondary reporting is used only for color, never as the sole basis for a number.
Is this guide affiliated with Quail Hollow Club?
No. This is an independent editorial guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Quail Hollow Club, any homeowners association, developer, brokerage, or governing body. No organization reviews or approves content before publication, and no source is granted copy approval.
How often is each page reviewed?
Every section page carries a visible editorial review date. Market and pricing pages are reviewed at least quarterly, school and zoning pages at least annually or on any official boundary or ordinance change, and tournament pages after each championship cycle. Any page failing its review window is re-reported before the date is advanced.
How are the trusted local partners disclosed?
Local firms referenced as resources are named openly on the pages where they are relevant. They do not commission, review, or influence editorial content, and no page recommendation is contingent on a commercial relationship. Where a firm is referenced, it is labeled as a resource callout rather than presented as a citation.
What happens when a reader submits a correction?
Submissions arrive at the editorial desk, are checked against the same primary sources used to publish the original claim, and are either applied with the review date advanced or declined with the supporting record noted. Corrections that change a material number are applied in place rather than appended, so the page always reflects the verified position.
Why do some answers carry a source link and others do not?
Answers that state a verifiable fact — a parcel figure, a school assignment, a tax mechanism, a tournament result — are matched to the primary source that supports them and carry an inline citation. Answers that describe editorial judgment, such as how a street feels or how buyers typically behave, are presented as analysis and are deliberately not dressed up with a citation they do not need.
